I can tell you now, you won't find anything that wasn't ammunition related. Look around the internet and try to find some info on cast Springfield, Armscorp, or Fulton receivers blowing up.
#NAKED AND FUNNY NEW PLUS#
LRB is nice, but for my money a Fulton receiver plus an extra $400 in my pocket for barreling and smithing will win every time. If improperly manufactured forged receivers can fail too. Being forged is no magic bullet to guarantee strength. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a cast receiver M14. However I don't like the stock options! How hard is it to get a nice walnut stock with adjustable comb? I just am not going to strap a bag on a new gun stock! I think we will both be happy we spent the money.

This is one of those guns I planned to buy 10-15 years from now but its now or never. Just not interested in a big bulky rifle, even if I did get that SS barrel. I was really thinking about the rear lug but I don't want an oversized stock either.

I will take the rail off and run as a M14 until I have the spare cash to build it into a nice scoped rifle. I plan to just get one of those CMP parts kit or equivalent since they don't have anymore. Also I am fairly well able to do most gunsmithing work myself. Yeah its a bit more up from buy it gets my receiver cost down like 23%. It reduces the price of the receiver way down! I was going to buy a nice barrel and bolt and have them installed anyway. Maybe I would be better off with an AR10 but thats not banned!Īctually I ordered the barreled action. I am not one to double up guns and I have a FAL and PTR for shooting Iron Sights. The M25 really seems to be the version to scope, so I went for it. However I really wanted to put a scope on this. I usually go for the stock Mil Spec type guns too. Thought about the M25 but I'll mostly shoot this with just irons. I don't want an over sized stock and I don't need it to be super accurate. Forged and cast will both last a long time but forged should last generations. Knowing that it's a pretty accurate replica will put a smile on my face long after the money is spent. The end result is, a true reproduction of an original M14 receiver in a semi auto configuration, which will consistantly deliver tack driving accuracy and performance. That's pretty much where I'm headed.
